Deadlands Noir: Sweet L.A.
Gangster kingpin rubbing elbows with the movie moguls and stars, representative of New York mob in LA
Standing just a tad under six-feet tall, with a thick head of black hair and piercing blue eyes, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel seemed to be a gangster sent from central casting in Hollywood. He is charming with the ladies and a sharp dresser, athletically inclined and fearless. Ben doesn’t only talk the talk, he walks the walk of a prototypical racketeer. Behind the curtains he works as New York mob’s representative in Lost Angels.
As his other associates prefer to keep their mugs out of papers, Bugsy loves the spotlight and spotlight loves him. He is a must-have at celebrite parties of Movietown as he brings some thrill to their nights and his plans for gambling paradise of Las Vegas are getting more and more interested listeners.
Still there’s a small hitch. If you tallk to the made-men themselves, they can tell you chilling stories of this blue-eyed gangster and them head doctors would call him textbook sociopath. He takes what he wants when he wants it and the emotion of remorse was alien to him. In his mind, other people are here to be used by him. Even the hitmen with true moxie have cold shivers when dealing with “Bugsy” as there was no knowing what could set him off with deadly consequences… oh, and do call him mr. Siegel as calling him “Bugsy” might be the last thing you do.
“Bugsy never hesitated when danger threatened. While we tried to figure out what the best move was, Bugsy was already shooting. When it came to action there was no one better. I’ve never known a man who had more guts.”
